Description: 

Health Care That Works (HCTW) is a course that was created to enhance participants ability to understand diagnosis and treatment for a variety of medical and orthopaedic conditions including injuries and conditions of the knee, shoulder, elbow, hand, wrist, foot, and ankle. Participants will learn strategies for working within the healthcare system to assure good outcomes.

Objectives: 

It is intended that at the conclusion of the course participants should be able to:
Explain how participants will be able to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of common injuries and conditions
Discuss how participants will better understand the needs of patients in all phases of treatment for these conditions
Discuss how participants will be able to participate as part of the healthcare team in addressing common injuries

Andrews Research & Education Foundation (AREF) reserves the right to cancel this course due to insufficient enrollment. Students will be notified of cancellations within 20 calendar days of the course start date. If a course is cancelled for any reason, AREF will return any prepaid registration fees. AREF is not responsible for airline penalties related to the cancellation of an AREF course. Please be aware of the airline restrictions regarding nonrefundable airline tickets when purchasing an airline ticket.

The Baptist Hospital is accredited by the Florida Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Baptist Hospital designates this educational activity for a maximum of 6 hours AMA PRA Category 1 credits™. Physicians should claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Baptist Hospital, CE Broker provider # 50-183 approves this program for 6 hours credit for nurses, occupational therapists. This program is approved for 6 hours credit for Physical Therapists (Florida).

Andrews Research & Education Foundation (BOC AP# P10024) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers. This program is eligible for a maximum of 6 of Category A hours/CEUs. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.
